This is why the company has been engaged in tree planting activities for the past 3 years and has announced that its 4th will take place in Nuvali, Laguna this October 15, 2011. *** ***       Trees play a bigger part in our lives than we might think. An average mature tree tree removes one ton of toxic carbon dioxide from the air and in its place provides enough oxygen for a family of four. They counteract air pollution from cars, motorbikes, trucks, buses, jeeps, vans and tricycles. When each new tree's location is marked a correct distance apart, eager volunteers get down to work.       Most of us have sought relief in the shade of a tree in summer when the sun's heat is at its fiercest, but there's more to it than getting out of the sun's rays. We feel cooler under a tree, because it really is cooler. Trees effectively reduce global warming, because they cool the ground and the air around them.       In money terms, the evaporation from trees strategically positioned around your home can reduce the cost of summer daytime arconditioning by 60 percent. Numbers increase and eco-enlightened volunteers are soon busy helping to improve our environment.       In a room which looks out over trees, people feel less stressed and more peaceful. Hospital patients with a view of trees recover more quickly and with fewer complications. The Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health has reported that if an area of 1 square kilometer contains just 343 trees, asthma rates among young children living in that area decreases by 29 percent.       Trees stabilize the soil and prevent erosion. Trees counteract water pollution by absorbing nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium from the soil that would otherwised be washed into streams by rainfall. Aquabest partner Haribon looks ahead to 2020, when newly planted trees will have 10 years of growth.       Trees provide nature's habitat for a great variety of wildlife, and that's not all.
